beo2pc >tips and tricks

The IR connector of beo2pc can be directly connected to the MCL. :-)

For that a 7805 has to be soldered into the beo2pc, to generate the needed 5 V out of the 8,3 V of the MCL.

Then the beo2pc is connected as follows:

Pink - DC supply (the 8.3 V) - at the 7805 for generating the 5 V (X2-3) out of the 8,3 V (remark: beo2pc needs approx. 20-30 mA)

shield - ground (X2-4)

white - Datalink - is connected to one input of the beo2pc (for example X2-1)

the other input of beo2pc (X2-2) will be connected to the +5V with a 10k-resistor.

the serial site of the cable is connected to the PC (works here with abut 40 m CAT5-wire); the ground will eventually not be needed if there is another ground connection and can lead to a ground loop.
==>just try it out

now make the audio connection from the PC (LineOut) to the B&O-system, and then the hardware should already work.

(I had to insert a translator GLI-B (Conrad 31 14 05) because of a ground loop.)

If a 455kHz-IR-receiver is needed, the TSOP7000 seems to be very interesting: www.vishay.com/docs/tsop7000.pdf

We tried it out and it worked after a software update.
